Surround Sound recordings require the use of
special equipment, and cannot be played using standard CD
players. They are provided on a CD medium
and are encoded using the DTS Digital Surround
system (identical to the system used in major
theaters). All sales of Surround Sound recordings are final;
they cannot be exchanged for standard
CDs or refunded.
Playback requires a system with five speakers,
each driven by its own amplifier channel, a DVD player
which is certified for both DTS encoded
discs and CD-R discs, and a DTS decoder which provides the five
audio signals to the amplifier/speaker system.
Most home theater system should be able to play these
discs, provided they can accommodate a DTS
encoded audio (not video) disc. A properly configured home
theater system should give the illusion of
sitting in the concert hall.
